Sessions and Fees

Every journey through grief and loss is unique, which is why we create bespoke support packages tailored to individual and organisational needs. Our fees reflect this personalised approach, varying based on the type and level of support required. We're happy to discuss pricing during your initial consultation, where we can better understand your specific situation and create a support plan that works for you.

We're based in Poole, Dorset, offering the flexibility of both online sessions and face-to-face support. For individuals, we can meet at our Poole practice or connect online from wherever you feel most comfortable. For organisations, we can arrange online support for team members across multiple locations.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if The Grief Therapists is right for me?

The best way to find out is through our free 15-minute consultation. This gives you a chance to share what brings you here, ask any questions, and get a sense of how we work. We can discuss your needs and help you decide if our approach feels like a good fit for you.

How do I get started?

When you reach out to us, we'll connect you with one of our therapists based on your needs and preferences. We'll arrange a free initial consultation where you can share your story and learn more about how we can support you. From there, we can schedule regular sessions at times that work for you.

What types of grief and loss do you support?

We work with many different types of loss, including bereavement, relationship endings, workplace changes, pet loss, health diagnoses, loss of safety or trust, and life transitions. We understand that grief isn't always related to death and that each person's experience is unique.

How long are the sessions?

Each session lasts 50 minutes. We typically meet weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs and preferences. We'll discuss the best frequency for you during your initial consultation.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, we provide both online and face-to-face sessions. While we're based in Poole, we work with clients across the UK through secure online platforms. Face-to-face sessions are available at our Poole practice or, for organisational clients, at your workplace.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged at the full session rate. We understand that emergencies happen, and we're happy to discuss exceptional circumstances.

How long will I need support?

There's no set timeline for grief support - everyone's journey is different. Some clients work with us for a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. We'll regularly review your progress together and adjust our approach to best support your needs.

What's the difference between your service and traditional counselling?

We combine counselling with coaching and practical strategies, offering a comprehensive approach to grief support. Our specialists focus exclusively on grief and loss, bringing deep understanding and expertise to this specific area. Unlike traditional EAP services, we provide continuity of care and specialised support for complex grief situations.

How can organisations work with you?

We offer various services for organisations, including one-to-one support for team members, return-to-work guidance, workshop training, and consultation for HR teams. We can create bespoke packages to suit your organisation's specific needs and culture.

What qualifications do your therapists have?

Our therapists are fully qualified therapists and coaches with specific training in grief and loss support. They hold professional memberships with relevant bodies and regularly undertake continuing professional development.
